I have followed two Masterclasses in architecture, an IT Architect training and the ISACA CISA Training. I found the Masterclasses very interesting. 
The trainers discussed examples from their own practical experiences. For me it was a deepening of what I also encounter in my work.
Together with the training to become a Certified IT Architect, this confirmed the knowledge I have already gained.

The ISACA CISA Training has given me insight into how architecture should be put together in general, but also how the processes around it are put together.

Certified Why do you think training is important?
For me it makes my knowledge demonstrable, I no longer have to explain it as extensively as before. Not only do I have years of experience, but also “the piece of paper”. In addition, the courses provide a bit of awareness and repetition of the knowledge already present, which is quite nice. It makes it easier for me to participate in the conversation, and after following the courses I am even more familiar with the subject matter. For example, a colleague asked me for help when he had to do a risk analysis. I could offer quality and explain to him how he could best approach this.

Does the customer also find it important that you follow training courses?
I notice that the customer reacts positively when obtaining a certification and that it is certainly appreciated that you expand your knowledge. After completing the Masterclass in management architecture, I was immediately allowed to test a Project Start Architecture on the aspects that I had learned in the training.

Are there any other courses you would like to follow?
I am currently already working on security training at a tactical level. I would like to follow courses at a higher abstraction level. Further from technology and more towards Enterprise Architecture. I am thinking, for example, of a specific Master's track via the Open University. Together with my field manager I look at how this fits within my desired growth path. “So you are very enthusiastic about taking courses!” That's right. And you know what's also really fun? I have now also given a guest lecture on “The application of Architecture in an Agile environment” at Stenden / NHL University of Applied Sciences. I really enjoyed doing that.
